Last year, I had the opportunity to fly to South Carolina and teach a card-making class at one of the cutest scrapbooking stores around, Scrappin’ at the Pink House. And yes, it really was a store inside a super cute, pink house. Delish!
I met the most delightful people during my visit, including the cute store owner, Michelle, her mom, Mom, and the very sassy Ronee. Charleston is a beautiful part of the country. If you’re in the area, please pay the Pink House a visit. You’ll be happy you did.
If you don’t have plans tomorrow, check the WCMD website for a list of official holiday retailers. If there’s not a participating store in your area, you’re sure to find lots happening online. I know for a fact that the Paper Crafts website will be a place for a card-making good time.

i guess i don't really use any special techniques, so i can't enlighten you :( ... i just really like to let patterned papers 'talk' to me, I don't like to cover them up with a lot of embellishment, which is why my cards are always more on the clean and simple side. Having grown up in a house with a quilting DIVA for a mother, surrounded by gorgeous patterned fabric, I feel blessed that I have inherited/learned my mom's eye for pattern and color.

My cards are very simple - stamping, or adding an embellishment, patterned paper and card stock. I've used photos sometimes, too.
My favorite technique right now, is probably stamping with Versamark then putting clear embossing over the image (then heat setting it) it looks really cool. Or another one I like is stamping with Versamark, putting heat & stick powder over it, heat set it, then put glitter (I like Dazzling Diamonds from SU) over that, heat set it again and you have a perfectly glittered background & the glitter doesn't come off!

I love stamping! Currently, I am loving coloring stamped images with colored pencil/gamsol or copic markers.
I'm not a really heavy techniquey person (although I keep saying there are so many things I want to learn...) I like to fussy cut and ink.
Love all those stamp sets!
I guess my favorite thing to do on a card these days is stitching. I have a great sewing machine that has @ 100 stitches pre-programmed into it, and I love doing different stitches, and even some paper piecing to make them look homespun. I also enjoy inking and distressing a lot - they add so much texture to a card!

My latest favorite techniques are 1) adding a glitter die-cut to the card and 2) using chalk ink to soften the edges of a greeting or stamped image. It's a tie. I just love doing both these days. Thanks for sharing your love of paper crafts with us!

At the moment I'm loving colouring stamped images with my Copic markers...I ♥ those markers!

WOW, thank you so much for this chance at winning some great blog candy :)! As for a special technique, here is one I just started to use and it works really really well. You know all those clear acrylic stamps that EVERYONE has?? They don't work with a lot of different inks, well my friends and I have discovered a way for them to work just like any other stamp in your collection. What we do is ink up our stamps using Versamark ink pad, and then ink up with regular ink right after. Next, stamp your image onto the cardstock and see how your image looks. No beading effect :D!

Before I was a card maker embossing is what always intrigued me the most, lately it would have to be die cutting. Whether it's with my Silhouette, or Cuttlebug it really makes my cards so much more special.
I rarely make a card that does not use ribbon or flowers. Love them.

I mostly use stamps on my cards. They are so versatile! Lately my favorite "technique" is to use a punch to make a window for the stamped image. Of course, I almost always use ribbon!
I'm not a card maker per se so I loved this tip I heard recently: Use your LO scraps to make a card - you already have all the coordinating pieces out so its quick and easy then you have a stockpile of cards, one for every LO you've made.
Great question...I've decided I love embossing (glitter helps too). But I'm a newbie...my fav may change as I get better. Thanks for your great giveaway...so fun!
Stamping is definately my favorite technique right now!
Well, my cards are simple. As I am a new learner when techniques come into play. I love learning new techniques. My usually try using embossing and stamping when making my cards. Happy WCMD and great weekend to you too.
At this very moment, my favorite technique is heat embossing. I bought a heat gun just yesterday. Before then I was using one of the burners on my stove. I'm very fortunate that I didn't burn my house down!!!! I will be much safer now with my heat gun! Happy WCMD!!!
was it a year ago already! oh how i miss you ms. megan! hope you card making day was a super one! hmm my favorite techy, before i dropped off the craft circuit for awhile was embossing. i love love love it. simple yet powerful! oh but yes fabric on my cards is one of my new favs!

Cuttlebug embossing folders - is that a technique - what I have been using to make most of mine lately. Instant beautiful card.
My favorite card making is just regular ink to paper. I use to emboss alot and just got lazy!

My favorite technique is using texture paint or embossing paste. It's gives such great texture when using stencils!
I recently received the cuttlebug and embossing dies so that's my new tool/technique.

I´m sort of new to card making but so far I love to stamp and cut with my punches, I also love dimensionals... ohhh and ribbon.. i also love to use embossing powder and to color the stamped image with my copics
stamping, definitely stamping! Whether its tone on tone effect with versamark, or watercoloring in an image stamping is my favorite part of cardmaking!
I'm not sure I have a favorite card-making technique. It really just depends on the card. I enjoy stamping and coloring in the image. Other times I might use flowers and rub-ons. :)
Heat embossing has been my favourite technique ever since I began stamping, but lately using punches is another favourite.
