I need your help with this hairy situation

As you may or may not know, shortly after my mama was diagnosed with breast cancer, I decided to grow my hair out for Locks of Love. (You can read more about this here.) Well, the time for the cut is drawing near, which means I need to start looking at styles.

I haven't gone short-short since I was kid and had to cut my hair after a perm gone wrong, so this is a tad scary. What if I look terrible with a short do? Eep! But, you know what? The purpose behind the cut is far more important than a bad hair day (or year), so I'm going to do this thing.

I've collected a few cute cuts and would love your feedback. Keeping in mind that my face is not celebrity-thin, which cut do you think would look the best on me? I have a favorite, but my mind isn't made up so I'm not going to tell you which one it is yet. First, I'd love your two cents. So, can you spare some change to help me with mine?

Option #1: The TomKat Cut
Pro: I'm a tucker. Not a day goes by that I don't tuck my hair behind my ears. I like that this cut makes that possible.
Con: I've had bangs like this before (image two), and they're a lot harder to keep up than they look.

Option #2: The Big Love Look
Pro: I love the longer layers in the front. I think it will help disguise my double-chin dance.
Con: My hair is naturally wavy, which means it would probably be a pain to get the sleek, straight strands.

Option #3: The Princess Part
Pro: My hair is definitely on the thick side, and this seems like it would accommodate that without much fuss.
Con: Does it look cute or messy? Not sure.

Option #4: New Moon, New Do
Pro: Feels like a modern and fun take on the traditional short bob.
Con: Like I'll ever look as cute as Miss Alice. That's a hard act to follow, even if it is just hair.

Option #5: Liv's Locks
Pro: People sometimes tell me I look like Miss Tyler, so maybe that means this cut would look good with my face.
Con: It looks like it might be too long. I have to cut at least 6 inches.

So, what do you think? 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? I can't wait to hair...errr, I mean hear. ;)

#2...love that look!!

i'm thinking 3 and 5 are doable with what you described as your hair type, and it will just look like you've lost some length.
although, i'm kinda likin' the tuck of #1.... {i agree, bangs are a pain!}
good luck, can't wait to see the new 'do!
hugs!!

My vote is for 2 and 3. I couldn't pick just one. I think the princess part is super cute and not messy lookin. I can't wait to see what u pick. You'll look fab with short hair.

Megan...If you did #2 you could basically make your hair look like #1 or #4 as well. I think you would look great in any of those. WARNING: Do not let them cut too much off. Hairdressers have that habit.

#1 no bangs! So cute for you! So proud of you!

I am thinking the princess part would look darling on you and wash and go styling is always a huge plus!
I need to do some hair do shopping too, Laurel already has hers picked out!

Thanks, dear friends. I'm taking and comparing notes. I think I'm narrowing down the selections to a top 1 or 2. :)

I <3 you, blog friends! Thanks for the help.

I think between 3 and 4. I think a longer bang is softening to the face, but at the same time you don't want to fight what is naturally beautiful about your hair (and it is gorgeous), the thickness and wave. Embrace it! Can't wait to see what you do.

i think #3 would look cute on you :)

This is after all my forte!!! My vote is number 1 or number 3 with curly or wavy hair...totally!! and either one would look awesome with your face shape and personality!! number 3 would be way lower maintenance then number 1 but both really would look awesome on you!!

Megan,
Jenifer said Alice before she saw the choices so she is definitely for Alice cut. I think 1 ore 4 is a good way to go.

You can't go wrong with any of these. Can I borrow this exact list and take it to my hair person when I get The Cut? I'll pick something different from yours! :-) I'm looking forward to it...

I'm thinking #3 but here's a good website that you download your pic on and you can try on these celebrity hairstyles on yourself. It's fun and It's free!!

I'm loving options 3 or 5. Good luck with making your decision. You could also play around in Photoshop and paste your face within each hair style to give you a better idea of how you'll look with it.

i am a big fan of #2. not too short and all u need would be a good straight iron for that sleek look. Can't wait to see the choice.

I'm a tucker, too. My hair is finally long enough to tuck. I have bangs, but I kinda need them; I have a weird forehead. LOL! They take a little bit of maintenance to keep them from getting unruly. But, most of my hair is unruly. So . . . Good luck--whatever you do, I know it'll be cuteness because well you look cute in pretty much anything and everything, Miss Meg!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE number FOUR!! cute as can BE!!!! i recently just cut my hair off too, it's a huge step, i went with the tom cat cut..i like it, but really as easy as it looks, it's not a "wash and go" do if you have even a bit of wave, i have to blow dry every day, which i HATE!! Alice do is a DO!!! so cute! good luck!

big love look! I think the length of that will still allow you to tuck it behind your ears. Plus her hair is wavy onthe left so you know that will work.

good luck. my mom had BC so i know what it's like. I have a pink ribbon tattooed on my left wrist- can't avoid forgetting. We have done walks together- so great.

So funny to read this because I am about to get my hair all cut off for Locks of Love too. I love the TomKat look. I'm a tucker too. I think any of them would be cute on you though!

I am voting for 3. For practical reasons. If you have natural curl, it would be the lowest maintenance.
And it is a cute, versatile cut. :)

#4 or #5 my dear - easy pick, you'll love the shag feeling of #4, but you know you're Liv's doppleganger in my eyes, so #5 is perfect too - lmk when you're ready, i've got the perfect product to make it incredibly easy to do - you're lovely!!! xxoo - k

First of all, I applaud you for donating to Locks of Love! As a cancer survivor (year and a half into remission), I really appreciate your thoughtfulness! My vote is for the second image of TomKat, with the bangs. Course, I'm sorta partial to that myself since my hair is styled similarly, but without the bangs. My entire life I've worn bangs, and when I lost my hair from chemo, I decided that as my hair grew back it would be time to try something new! So, I'm growing out the bangs. Not sure if I'll keep my hair this way, but hey, why not try something new? It is just hair, and it will grow back! Thanks again for supporting this wonderful program!

#1, you're hair is thick enough to not look like helmet hair, and if you do bangs, just do less bangs (only cut a thin layer for bangs) and it makes them wispy, cute and easy to just straighten and go. It'll look cute either way if you just wear it with a smile! Go you, great way to support your mom.

I like option 2, part (a). And I think that Anne Hathoway's locks look messy, kinda like when I get caught in the rain and gets fugly asit dies all day...
