Party Like It's NSD!

Celebrate good times, come on! Today’s a celebration of scrapbookers and scrapbooking. It’s National Scrapbooking Day (NSD). In honor of this special day, I have a few goodies to give away, but first, I want to share something with you that Jenifer, my niece, made.

She drew this picture and made this note when she was visiting last week. She’s only 14 and she already recognizes the importance of scrapbooking.

It says, "To give a hoot about scrapbooking is to give a hoot memories. And memories are a gift from you to you, so give a hoot!" I couldn't have put it better myself. :)

To celebrate this hoot-worthy hobby, I’ve got a few supplies to give away to you, my blog readers. All you have to do is be random… Well, your comment has to be one of my random winners, that is. Just comment stating what it is about scrapbooking that causes you to give a hoot.

From the comments I receive this weekend, I’ll draw one winner to receive this bucket of brads (bucket not included):

One winner will receive this Chatterbox prize package (a brand new mini album kit and frame set):

And one winner will receive these new Making Memories goodies (ribbon and brads):

I’ll announce my winning names on my blog on Tuesday. In the meantime, I hope you have a fun time celebrating NSD!

Megan

P.S. Did you know that today is also free comic book day? That’s right. My older brother is out on the town this very minute collecting his free books. If you want your own freebies, check your local comic book stores for participating locations. Enjoy!

  1. Scrapping gives me a creative outlet and a way to connect to other busy women...all the while recording what life is like for me and my family. As we all know (esp. if you have kids!), time moves FAST, and scrapping helps me capture those moments that are special to me. Thanks for the chace to win these generous gifts! Happy NSD. :)

  2. Ooo, I'm the first one to leave a comment! Happy NSD! I don't know if I'll be able to scrap today so I did last night. I give a hoot about SB-ing because it lets me enjoy creative play. It's all about memories, sure, but for me the real excuse is the way I get to make something fun!

  3. Happy NSD to you and all of my fellow scrappin addicts! I love all the awesome prizes! Thanks for the chance to win them =)

  4. I think the best thing about scrappin' for me is the opportunity to make friends and have social time. I do love my alone time in my scrap cave but the group scraps are the best and really helped me emerge from my post-partum blues a few years ago!

  5. It is my therapy .. my time to create and show my love for my family.. all the while taking time for myself!

  7. Scrapping helps me make sense of my life and the trials I've been through. It gives me perspective and fills me with gratitude. It is my creative lifeline and the most fun hobby in the world!

  8. I like scrapbooking because it helps me as a mom (with three kids) keep my memories fresh (the memories I would otherwise lose from being a mom to three kids). And...who doesn't love playing with paper???

  11. I scrapbook because I never want to forget any of the little things about life. Everyone (including me!) is too busy these days and it's so nice to have a way to re-live the memories. I also definitely need a creative outlet!

I just found your blog today through the CK blog. Great stuff! I'll be back. :)

  21. Scrapbooking for me is not only a creative outlet, but something to keep me busy. I'm not good at sitting around doing nothing. I need to be doing something to save my sanity! Scrapbooking is the perfect thing for that. Also, I'm excited about leaving something that shows my kids how much I love and care for them.

  22. I do not have many pictures of me as a kid. Besides being a creative outlet and relax time for myself, I like scrapbooking for the memories I treasures for my kids and when I hear them saying oh! it's beautiful mom or the other day my boy told his friend I was really good at this hobby, I know they appreciate what I do for them!

  34. Although I am primarily a card maker, I love the bigger canvas that scrapbooking gives for creativity. I also love preserving special memories...my grandma passed away earlier this year and I love that I can honour her memory by making an album of pictures and journalling that tell her story :) HAPPY NSD!!!!

I give a hoot about scrapbooking because I am a huge sentimentalist (if that's not a word, I just made it one!) Personal handwriting, pictures, and preserving memories is something I'm very passionate about!

    ReplyDelete
  39. I love scrapping b/c I love to capture the true essence of what happened in the photos I snapped. My children are my main subjects and they grow so fast, I want to freeze these moments in time in my heart and on paper for future memories! Thanks for the great ideas, always!!

  43. I love scrapbooking because it gives me a chance to remember the things I've done, how my kids looked when they were little, what I did in college, and mostly my memories, thoughts and feelings. I love that my kids take out their scrapbooks all the time and look through them. They have a record of their lives, and so do I! Scrapbooking is a great outlet for me, and it fits into my life and schedule perfectly.

  56. I give a hoot about scrapbooking because of the memories I am able to preserve for my little one. A few years ago I was looking through some of my moms things and I was so grateful for the memories she wrote down and little momentos she saved. We all get so busy living that we need time to remember the big picture and appreciate our gifts. But I also love the time thinking about scrapping, pouring over the mags, checking the websites, planning that next layout for design team. It's all fun!

    ReplyDelete

  85. Scrapbooking is my passion. I have three beautiful grandchildren and tons and tons of pictures. Thank goodness their parents love to take photos. It is already amazing to see how much they have changed, especially the little ones. I just gave my daughter-in-law two albums that I had filled to overflowing and can't wait to start another. Thank goodness someone came up with the idea of scrapbooking instead of saving photos in a shoebox like I did before.

    ReplyDelete
  86. I give a hoot about Scrapbooking as it helps to capture the moment which you can go over after years and say "Yes thats was great".Plus the fun part is that you can be creative with it..
